ABSTRACT

In the field of training the subject of evaluation is one of the most hotly debated issues. Common to all the different reference models and approaches proposed is the focus on the importance and complexity of evaluation within the training process. Research into training evaluation has gradually identified models which, according to operative contexts, focus attention on one or more aspects of training. Below are listed the models that have been most widely applied in training: Hamblin's hierarchical model; pragmatic evaluation; the contingent approach; and the systemic approach. Interpretation of evaluation as an integral part of the training process suggests that the various actors involved should be protagonists in the evaluation process. The Formazione Integrata Transnazionale project falls within the framework of initiatives that seek to define, for each job profile, the knowledge, skills and aptitudes required to ensure that the labour supply effectively satisfies new demands.
