ABSTRACT
This case study explores the complexities of working with commercial sexually exploited children (CSEC). Law enforcement, social work, child welfare, and juvenile justice are a few of the interacting disciplines featured here to show the varying ways in which members of the CSEC are viewed. Often, children are stigmatized and blamed for playing a role in their own victimization. It is difficult work with victims of CSEC because of their high rates of recidivism, which can cause hopelessness in workers trying to help.
