ABSTRACT

The work presented in this paper describes a workflow to assess the compliance between a 3D scanned model and its original CAD model, which was done using the software Rhinoceros. The aim of this paper is to develop a workflow to ascertain the level of formal correspondence between the two digital models. The scanned model was developed from a physical model produced in a powder sintering printer, ZCORP and scanned with a table scanner. The two models were overlapped and the differences were analyzed. The hypothesis of the paper is that the digitalization process proposed can be used as an evaluation method to analyze the quality of the fabrication process of the physical model.
