ABSTRACT

In this contribution I hope to suggest a plausible interpretation of Zech 10:1-2, a passage which has received relatively little attention in the history of research. Crucial to my interpretation is that these few lines are not to be read in their immediate context. This approach stands in contrast with the nowadays dominant trend which assumes that Deutero-Zechariah must form a carefully edited whole, almost as a matter of principle, even if its meaning largely escapes the interpreters.
