(Counter)cultural changes in surfing and surfing scholarship

This final chapter emphasises the need to acknowledge past and current research, the blindspots and some of the ongoing issues in surfing that are associated with the concepts of sex, gender and surfing. Referring to a local contemporary example of an enduring issue I invite the reader to consider their participation in surfing (research) associated with sex, gender and sexuality.
