ABSTRACT
There have been significant endeavours in the field of level crossing safety, not only on the railway networks of Croatia and Slovenia, but also on the road network, in contributions from various professionals. In general, the safety level is adequate and socially acceptable, but society and responsible institutions are continuously looking for cost-effective improvements.
