ABSTRACT
Over the years Athens has undergone significant infrastructure developments leading to a remarkable restructuring, especially in the field of transportation. New peripheral roads have been created or significantly improved, which bypass the city centre and offer alternative routes, while the modernised modes of public transport have improved both the quality of services in transportation and living standards.
