ABSTRACT
The contributions to this book have highlighted a number of strategic issues which pivot on the political, economic, social and cultural implications of London’s eastwards turn. The purpose of this concluding chapter is to engage with these arguments, not in order to draw the threads together into a single narrative – for the reasons already discussed in our introduction, we think this is both an impossible task, and in so far as it imposes an editorial foreclosure on the debate we hope this book will help stimulate – a counter-productive one.
