ABSTRACT
Hurricanes Katrina and Rita cast a bright spotlight upon a number of important issues, including, among others, issues of race, issues of class, and issues regarding our nation’s emergency preparedness. Still another issue highlighted by the hurricanes, but one that did not garner the same level of subsequent examination or discussion, was the issue of “place.”
