ABSTRACT

The largest cities (with populations of millions) can be considered territories where natural landscapes are transformed to the maximum degree and a person is mostly isolated from nature. However, in post-industrial times the natural landscapes that have been ‘denied’ in every big city due to its growth and development are increasingly valued. The need to preserve natural landscapes within the city limits is complementary to the creation of a semi-artificial urban environment which not only tires the townspeople, but also negatively influences their physical and mental health.
