ABSTRACT
Many excruciating embarrassments have been caused by people’s negligence, carelessness, foolishness and indiscretion when using the Internet and electronic mail.
We tend to forget the enduring nature of e-mails, and that casual gossip and throwaway remarks may be preserved on backup tapes, or forwarded to unknown correspondents beyond our control, only to reappear at the most inconvenient moments.
