ABSTRACT
Introduction This chapter deals with an approach to Air Traffic Management (ATM) human error analysis that is being developed for the European ATM system. This new approach aims to determine not only how and why human errors are contributing to incidents but also how to predict the likelihood of these errors occurring and thus how to improve human reliability within the system. This approach is called HERA – Human Error in ATM.
