ABSTRACT

He speaks as part of a ‘theodrama’ performed by Ikon, an ‘iconic, apocalyptic, heretical, emerging, and failing’ ‘transformance art’ collective from Belfast, Northern Ireland (wiki.ikon.org.uk, access date 21 February 2008). Those gathered take part in this ‘(un)ravelling’ through a laptop and an interactive software programme. Under the title ‘Ikon Creed Editor 2007’, the Apostles’ Creed is projected on to a screen to our left, along with this invitation: ‘The creed is a statement of belief. This is an opportunity to engage with the creed. Feel free to interact with the text below by editing and changing it.’ Throughout Ikon’s performance, people use the laptop to edit what appears in the window.1
