ABSTRACT

Persuasion is the centrepiece of business activity. Just as customers must be convinced to buy your company’s products or services, employees and colleagues must be inspired to follow the company’s strategic direction and to give the best of themselves when in work. Persuading employees to view new ideas in a favourable light is difficult. They are not always readily disposed to change. Therefore influence and persuasion are key change tools. The most successful companies inspire their employees and drive the organisation’s strategy; because the employees ‘get it’, they understand the vision and strategy. Success in business is not about imposing rules it’s about inspiring, persuading and influencing.
