ABSTRACT
Once upon a time, computers were the curse of labour – computerization and mechanization dis-and re-placed workers as computers were faster, cheaper to run and did not require tea breaks. Higher rates of unemployment, reduced total consumer expenditure and lower growth rates were all predicted. Now e-commerce is at the core of job creation. Lower unemployment, higher skilled wages and faster, cleaner, economic growth can now be identified as concurrent with this technological revolution.
