ABSTRACT
The former Central Party Archive (TsPA) of the Institute of Marxism-Leninism under the Central Committee of the CPSU, since 1992 the Russian Centre for Conservation and Study of Documents in Contemporary History (RTsKhlDNI), has its origins in the documentary collections of various organizations and institutions of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (RSDRP) abroad. Wherever the RSDRP was located at any given moment during the years 1903-17, whether in Geneva, Paris, Cracow or Berne, there it established an archive.
