ABSTRACT

Kateryn Parr (1512-1548), Henry Vffl’s sixth wife and only surviving queen, has the distinction of publishing two original works at a time when women were not expected to show creative impulses. Yet, though Prayers or M editacions (1544) and Lamentacion o f a Synner (1545-7, published 1547) are unique in English literary and social history, Kateryn remains perhaps the least known of Henry’ wives.
