Creating settings: Thomas More and the imagination of places

First, we have to admit that the study of loci in Thomas More’s text could be regarded as highly ironical, considering the meaning of the word “utopia” (Vieira 2010: 4). Nevertheless, the mere fact that it is a non-place allows More total freedom when creating the setting of the island and the places related to it.
