The reader should also be aware that Chou Wen-chung has prepared several new editions of Varese’s works which include many editorial comments; they also are not listed in this bibliography, and are left for the reader to discover. Performance reviews are included, with the exception of those by student or other training organizations. Following the list of works is an annotated bibliography of written works both by and about Chou Wen-chung. For source material in Chinese related to Chou Wen-chung, author would direct the interested researcher to the excellent bibliographies included in the writings of Peter Chang, Chan Wing-chi, and Chun-Ming Kenneth Kwan. Other resources that are not listed individually within the bibliography are the extensive performance notes that Chou includes with his works; these can be located in printed editions of his music.
