ABSTRACT
This chapter reflects on the effectiveness of the figures of knowledge-based networks through a comparison between different-scale local nodes in the southern area of the Greater Milan urban region. A city sector only recently included within a wider process of urban change based on the development of new trans-scalar centralities, this area has grown due to the presence of various infrastructures as well as digital and physical backbones.
