ABSTRACT

It is a strange fact that `Dôms have occasionally raised themselves to positions of distinction and authority. One Nábhají `Dôm wrote, in the sixteenth century, the Bhakta Málá, a treatise highly valued by the Rámávats; and another, Alí Bakhsh `Dôm, became governor of Rasúlabad, one of the districts of Oudh.63
