ABSTRACT
Fans are always manufactured by Muhammadans residing in outlying suburbs of the city, who are generally cultivators.
They make the large hand fan (Arání) with the leaves of the Palmyra palm, a smaller sort being made with the same leaf, and either left plain (sáda), or ornamented with gaudy colours and talc, hence its name of ‘Abraqí.’
