ABSTRACT

In certain domains, today’s young people engage in substantially more healthrisk behavior than did their counterparts from the 1960s (National Commission on the Role of the School and the Community in Improving Adolescent Health, 1990). Dryfoos (1997) recently estimated that 30% of 14-to 17-year olds regularly engage in multiple high-risk behaviors, and an additional 35% experiment with various high-risk behaviors.
