ABSTRACT

It has been 2 years since Larry died; time enough to have processed the experience, to weave together the threads of a therapeutic relationship that endured only 8 months, yet that has had a deep and abiding impact. In that brief time, the nature of our joint endeavor created a strong and unforgettable bond between us. What Larry and I confronted together was his battle with liver cancer. “We’ll try radiation,” the doctors said. “We may be able to slow the process down.”
