ABSTRACT

Popular myths abound regarding women and work. This is especially true for working women with children, female managers and professionals, and career-minded women. As we indicated in our introductory chapter, the workforce is increasing in diversity. Furthermore, within each group (e.g., gender, ethnicity, age), individuals differ. For example, women do not all behavior similarly at work, Hispanics do not all engage in the same activities, and older workers vary in skills significantly.
