ABSTRACT
In this chapter I discuss briefly a definition and rationale for generative testing with an emphasis on the prerequisites to implement generative testing: a thorough construct analysis that culminates in precise specifications capable of supporting generative testing. I then describe an application that led to an operational licensing exam. I conclude with some future prospects and outline some needed work to advance a generative approach.
