Case studies offer interesting but biased conclusions about the efficacy of health campaigns. The conclusions from case studies depend entirely on which cases the researcher chooses to examine. In contrast, meta-analysis allows researchers to assess the efficacy of health campaigns based on a population of studies. Conclusions drawn from meta-analysis using quantitative methods allow generalization to the population of campaigns.
