ABSTRACT
How do people draw statistical inferences? The literature on the topic has provided several answers to this question. Most of them seem to share the assumption that strategies do not play a crucial role in naive statistical reasoning. In this chapter, we show that people do solve statistical reasoning problem by using strategies, that is, they apply various sequences of operations to obtain the same solution (or different solutions).
