ABSTRACT

About 10 years after the original Sesame Street experiment began, Children’s Television Workshop (CTW) decided to push the experiment into the exciting and adventure-filled (but sometimes treacherous) waters of new technologies. In 1979, CTW began planning its theme-park, Sesame Place, and one of the features of the park was a Computer Gallery. CTW formed a small in-house team that developed approximately 55 computer programs for the Gallery, and this team has evolved over the years into what is today the Interactive Technologies division of CTW.
