Validity for What?

WithDonald W. Fiske

The title of my chapter, as some readers may recall, is that of a paper published in 1946 by Jack Jenkins. He was my first mentor on the topic of validity. I served under him in the Aviation Psychology section of the Navy’s Bureau of Medicine and Surgery during part of World War II. I use his title as a way of remembering and honoring him, and also for its pithiness and relevance.
