ABSTRACT
Children’s books are among the most carefully controlled and highly scrutinized media to reach a child’s hands. Gatekeepers selecting books for children care deeply about the quality of what they choose. I create children’s books for a number of reasons. First, creating them allows me to use both my theatrical and artistic background. I can write the script, cast the characters, design the sets and costumes, and direct the story. I like to think of my eye as a television movie camera, moving in, watching the scenes progress.
