ABSTRACT

Family members have a complex set of boundary linkages in terms of the different kinds of private information they individually, as well, as collectively, own. Medical care that is based on knowledge about genes and health generated from the Human Genome Project. When individuals are denied insurance based on race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, age, and/or a medical condition. For example, individuals with chronic health may be denied insurance coverage because their condition is "costly." More specifically, extrinsic religiosity functions as a social resource that provides information and/or assistance through direct communication or vicarious observation. Intrinsic religiosity functions as a personal resource associated with cognitive and emotional functioning and may thus provide a coping mechanism in association with information about genes and health.
