ABSTRACT

Cognitive science is, by definition, an interdisciplinary endeavor, one where the investigators have their formal training in different academic disciplines. This chapter is an informal study of how 21 people enjoy and succeed at it with researchers from other disciplines. It is based upon interviews and discussions with computer scientists and neuroscientists, psychologists and linguists, even a philosopher or two. Each of them is, by the standards of publication and research funding, a successful and expert interdisciplinary collaborator.
