ABSTRACT

Intelligence Enhancement is for the mind what an athletic coach is for the body. A coach takes an athlete through exercises and warm-ups to prepare the muscles. In the mental realm, the analogous mind-strengthening exercises include making sure a person gets good nutrition, good sleep, and does his or her thanking in a quiet and stress-free environment. Education in facts and pattern that can be applied to a particular task can also be thought of as ways to strengthen the mental muscle. Beyond strength training, a coach will teach an athlete how to use his or her muscles most effectively. In the physical realm these techniques include breathing techniques, and when to hold back, and when to exert energy. The analogous mental training is in brainstorming, problem solving, and memory techniques.
