ABSTRACT
Colorectal cancer is a common malignancy. In the United Kingdom, it is the third most frequently occurring cancer in men, with over 18,700 cases diagnosed per year, and in women, it is the second, with 16,800 cases each year (1). Worldwide, it has an annual incidence of approximately 700,000 new cases with 500,000 deaths (2).
