ABSTRACT
In the United States, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulates the use of all GSR devices either directly or through an agreement with the state in which the device is located. Specic regulations for older model GSR units are set forth in 10 CFR Part 35.600, Subpart H, “Photon Emitting Remote Aerloader Units, Teletherapy Units and Gamma Stereotactic Radiosurgery Units,” which can be found on the NRC’s Web site (https://www .nrc.gov/ reading-rm/doc-collections/cfr/part035). Shortly aer the rst LGK Perfexion was installed in the United States, the NRC issued a licensing guidance document specically for the Perfexion (10 CFR 35.1000, found at https://www.nrc.gov/ materials/miau/ med-use-toolkit/perfexion-guidance.pdf). To date, the NRC has not issued specic recommendations for the Rotating Gamma Unit Vertex 360 or for the GammaArt-6000TB, but prudence
