Thismeansthatthesize,charge,andotherphysiochemicalpropertiesof theparticles,molecules,atomsorsubstancesattemptingtopermeateitwill determinewhethertheysucceedornot.Thisaptitudemakesthemthemost ef„cient known separation “technology.” Hence, to mimic such concept is themostlogicalpathtofollowwhentryingtointegrateseparationtechnologies.Theavailabletechnologiespresentmajordrawbacks,separationprocesseslikedistillationtendtobeenergydemanding,andprocessesbasedon adsorptionhavetheproblematicfeatureofnotoperateinacontinuousmode.
