ABSTRACT
Abiotic stresses, such as drought and salinity, are serious threats to agriculture and the natural statusoftheenvironment.Theyarerecurringfeaturesofnearlyalltheworld’sclimaticregions sincevariouscriticalenvironmentalthreatswithglobalimplicationshavelinkagestowatercrises (Gleick,1994,1998,2000).Thesethreatsarecollaterallycatalyzedbyglobalwarmingandpopulation growth.
