ABSTRACT
Giant cell arteritis (GCA) is a granulomatous panarteritis that characteristically involves one or more craniofacial branches of the carotid arteries, especially the temporal. In some instances, there is also a concomitant systemic vasculitis that may or may not be clinically apparent.
