ABSTRACT

Coming from the Ministry of Internal Aairs of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Alić analyzes the transition and restructuring of the police sector after the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He emphasizes the problems that occurred in police structures and agencies due to the dysfunctional organization of the police set up through the Dayton Peace Accord. He provides his thinking about the relationship between academic analysis and police practices, his professional experience, and his visions of the principal issues and of the results obtained, as well as his opinions on possible future developments and improving police work in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
