To ensure that manual materials assist devices are used to their fullest potential, it is necessary for the ergonomist to go beyond just suggesting that such a device be employed. Ergonomists must become actively involved in the design, selection, and installation of these systems. is chapter is an initial attempt at providing some basis for this process.
