ABSTRACT
This chapter gives an overview of research activities in the ™eld of boron in nonlinear optics (NLO) in recent years. Different types of boron derivatives are of interest for applications in NLO: some act as electron donors, for example, the dodecaborate and tetracoordinate boron, while some act as acceptors, such as closo-carboranes and tricoordinate boron.
