ABSTRACT
This chapter presents how atomic force microscopy (AFM) can be used for liquid applications. AFM is a specišc scanning probe microscopy (SPM) technique that exploits the atomic interactions between a hard probe and a sample to create a threedimensional image of the sample topology. Furthermore, AFM can also be used to map the electrical and mechanical properties of a surface.
