In this chapter, we consider the issues that have caused the most ink to be spilled: reliability, availability, and security (RAS). Anyone relying on computing resources in general and cloud computing in particular has these three concerns:
Reliability
—How often is service available, and how often it fails. Reliability is often covered by a service level agreement.
