ABSTRACT

In recent years there has been a sudden increase in the number of people with body posture defects, whereas the average age of the aJlceted has been constantly lowering. The young, not completely shaped organism of a child, is especially susceptible to the influence of physical factors . Incorrect classroom design, not adjusted to rapidly changing features of adolescent organism, poses a serious threat to its proper development. The analysis of the sitting positions adopted by children during classes at school, disclosed the need for better adjustment of student workstations to anthropometric requirements, for increased ergonomic awareness of work organization, as well as the need for considering changes in arrangement or workstation, depending on the obj ectives and forms of didactic activities . Based upon the research results , an ergonomic example design was developed for a school desk for the youngest students .
