ABSTRACT
In this paper, we classify the groups of controls and identify physical attributes of each group of controls on TV remotes. Then, we analyze and compare the current designs of TV remote controls of digital cable and satellite TV service providers in United States. In doing so, we identify usability issues and provide design recommendations. Further, we identify the current trends in TV remote design, and determine which variations more effectively promote usability.
