ABSTRACT

The issues of occupational safety management in trade have always played a vital role in most literature on the subject. This has not only been determined by the concern for customer safety, but, primarily, also by the concern for the safety of the staff, who perform their tasks over many hours, often in a rigid position, in diverse physical, biological and - quite frequently - chemical environments [7]. The issues of occupational safety gain importance in view of the fact that stores, as workplaces, have diverse product lines and organisational systems. In relation to the size and variation of product lines, the literature on the subject distinguishes the following types of stores (cf. Table 1).
