ABSTRACT

Environment protection or restoring and regeneration of the environment, if it was already damaged, are a purpose of many disciplines. Here, the efficiency of these actions is measured by a set of standard environmental indicators, such as: purity of air, water, soil, and noise level, ctc. Whereas aesthetical qualities of the cnvironment, including architectural beauty, are frequently avoided, as an aspect of small value - unnecessary and impractical. It has been forgotten that the beauty visibly influences people, triggers good reactions, promotes good behaviours and attitudes. Beauty sets off behavioural response, documented by ergonomics experiments. Harmonious environment has an impact on human emotional development, activates cognitive processes and processes of identification. For a man, beautiful architecture is a source of satisfaction, a fascinating subject. On the other hand, monstrosity sets off negative behaviours in people living in devastated environment.
