ABSTRACT

This book has explored many conceptual aspects of information technology (IT) and organizational learning and how they can be utilized together to help firms compete in a rapidly changing world. Case studies were presented to show how these concepts, and the theories they derive from, could be implemented into practice. It is most important, however, to remember that each organization is unique and that the implementation of organizational learning methods must therefore be tailored to the particular dynamics at play in a given organization. Hence, there can be no boilerplate methodology for the strategic employment of technology; such an approach could never guarantee maximum benefit to the organization. My position involves employing various organizational learning methods that must be carefully chosen and implemented based on the projected target audience and on the particular stage of growth of the organization and its mature use of technology.
