ABSTRACT

Ayurveda is the complete knowledge for long life. In Sanskrit, the word āyus means “longevity or life” and the word veda means “related to knowledge” or “science.”1 Ayurveda, an ancient system, addresses information or knowledge of or for a healthy living. It is afar a system of medicine but also describes a lifestyle for happy and healthy living. Ayurveda denes health as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being (Satva, atma, sareeram) and not merely the absence of disease or inrmity.2 It views illness as caused by an imbalance in a person’s bodily or mental constitution.
